My Chemical Romance Back on Tour in AUGUST!

Image
If that isn't the most beautiful thing I've ever seen-... Unfortunately, it's hard to understand most of what the website has to say about this festival because it is in Japanese. My Chem fans are certainly familiar with Summer Sonic already; as, it was the festival that MCR played in 2004 before Gerard decided to become sober. Basically, what that means is: This. is. huge , especially since it is the first of shows cropping up that the band will be playing after their recent break from the road. And what does this mean for a new album? Plenty. In recent interviews, band members have confirmed that they see it coming out later this year. A new album, summer shows- I could die happy (after I see them, of course). Does anyone have some frequent flier points they'd like to donate? Right now, my serious intentions are to jet to Japan. XoXo c. PS: Thanks a lot to Shell, MCRmy moderator extraordinaire, for this epic news

90s Playlist!

How sad it is that '90s blog week is coming to an end! Untrue to my 90s week theme, I have let a couple anachronistic posts slip, but now it's like totally about the '90s! My inspiration for this whole theme was last Saturday's events. All of the kids in my mod tend to gather in our common area and hang out. One usually has a laptop on which they can youtube search music and double as a friend and a DJ. However, NO ONE wants to listen to what I like, some kids are strictly into rap, and others strictly Coldplay. So, how can we compromise? The classics, of course! The only time we can reach musical harmony in Mod 2A is by listening to music from our past- the music we listened to before we had refined our tastes. So, I acting as the DJ that night, began a '90s playlist that would satisfy all. I resisted my urges to play all old Alkaline Trio, Bad Religion, and NOFX and went back in time to what I actually listened to. I also excluded some of the "obvious&quo

Spoilers on MTV Tonight!

Tonight at 8PM EST, MTV will deliver a bouquet of nerdy happiness to my awaiting arms with their show Spoilers . Featuring "spoilers" for such upcoming movies as "Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince," "Star Trek," and -of course- "Watchmen" this program has had my schedule cleared for weeks. You know you want to tune in, and if you don't, perhaps this trailer for "Watchmen" will persuade you: Movie Trailers - Movies Blog Yum, Muse... Eh em, I mean... If that isn't enough to get you all excited to watch this, check out who came to the premiere and brought with them questionable choices in fashion. Gotta love the Hawaiian shirt, there, G. Way. Bittersweet Symphony-- No Sidewalk for YOU!

Athens, Ohio, I have noticed something about you: you are packed with people unwilling to share a sidewalk. Heards of friends tend to stumble down your sidewalks in inconsiderate lines, and I - the ever-submissive one- am left to walk in the mud, but no more! Following my '90s week theme, The Verve (not to be confused with other '90s artist, The Verve Pipe) have brought me inspiration with their video for "Bittersweet Symphony". The song itself is from their 1997 album, "Urban Hymns" and has had plenty of controversy surrounding it for the orchestral sample used in it. That all is beyond the point, though. The point of this blog is that, because of this video I intend to never be the one to step off the sidewalk because of an on-coming blockade of rudeness again...for today at least. And I will strut. My Chem Divulge Secrets of their New Album to MTV

Oh, I know I said this week my blog would be dedicated to the '90s, but I simply had to post this, because I am ridiculously giddy every time a member of MCR opens his mouth about the new record. Check out what MCR singer Gerard Way had to say to MTV about it today: MTV Shows Oh, and just a fun fact for those of you who want a little My Chem history: Gerard goes through phases in the form of the jacket he wears. When the band began, it was a leather jacket that molded and "fell apart due to sweat," as he said. He went through the suit-jacket phase for a while, as well, but his new phase is that very denim jacket you see him wearing in this video. Its lifespan can be traced to the summer of 2007, its presence documented in nearly every recent photo of him. Gerard has even proclaimed himself, "a jacket slut." As for the rest of the band, it appears beards are the new black, Mikey's going for the scholarly look, and I believe Frank Iero has a new hand tattoo. X

Lyrics of the Week: "Love Love, Kiss Kiss"

Image
Ah, Valentine's week. The joy, the ♥pinkness♥ , the prospect of holding hands and being lovey-dovey: AKA SHOWING OFF. Though Dan Andriano of Alkaline Trio is now happily married, he wanted to write a song not for himself but for the single and alone among us for the 'Trio's most recent album, Agony & Irony . The result was the bitter, tongue-in-cheek anthem "Love Love, Kiss Kiss" and I feel its lyrics are the perfect match for the general mood of this week. Love Love, Kiss Kiss Alkaline Trio Take a look you see I've painted you a picture, It's black and white except the blood's a little richer Down in the corner where I gave it my signature And then I titled it, "This one's for the Winter" Check it out, you see it's just a big disaster I'll dedicate it to the fact that it's so hard for you to dream, A million heartbeats all around you make it hard to sleep It doesn't help you're freezing in your bed your blanket

I KNEW The Zombie Apocalypse was Nigh!

Thanks to MSNBC and a couple of hackers to fuel their story, I was able to find a gem of a news report this morning: Visit msnbc.com for Breaking News , World News , and News about the Economy Those hackers are my heroes. And not only were the zombies they warned of undead, but they were nazis as well. Now, was that even necessary? XoXo c.

MCR Back in Studio This Week!!

Image
Various sources such as Kerrang! , Buzznet, and BBC News have released articles today where a clearly excited Gerard Way speaks of the band's getting together this week to begin recording for the next album. From the sound of things, "Desolation Row" got them psyched to get back into the usual MCR groove of things. Wait, did I say usual? According to the band members, they are so stoked that this recording process could very well end up going more quickly than I can blog it. Ray Toro, Bob Bryar, and Gerard Way- alternating the playing of guitar, bass, and drum as they did so- already began writing at least three rough songs. The very un-MCR-like quick recording plus the fact that they are going for a more rough sound on this album can mean nothing but high-energy and excitement for the band, on the album, and among fans. Frank Iero claimed that from about the second week of being on break, he has wanted to return to writing with his bandmates. The MCR present is looking

See the new MCR Video Right Here!

Hey, guys. The band finally put up the official video, so I thought I'd share the love here. See, I, like a good little street-teamer, refuse to link or leak until the band does so. Here you go: "Desolation Row" - My Chemical Romance, from the upcoming Watchmen soundtrack. My Chemical Romance - Desolation Row I love that "Pale Horse," the band from the actual novel, is listed below MCR on the marquee. My favorite part of the video is when Gerard gets arrested. Ha-ha!
