Image
As the My Chemical Romance return continues to unfold, I am creating this space answer some of the more common questions floating around the fandom.  I will update this as new questions arise. And, knowing MCR, we'll have far more questions than answers coming our way! Stay tuned! Are My Chemical Romance going to tour?  As of today (Friday, November 8), the band have announced two shows and two festival appearances. There has been no official word on a tour, but at this juncture, it seems safe to assume more dates are to come. The currently announced shows are as follows: December 20, 2019 — Shrine Expo Hall — Los Angeles, CA — Return Show March 20, 2020 — Melbourne Showgrounds — Melbourne, AUS — Download Festival March 21, 2020 — Parramatta Park — Sydney, AUS. — Download Festival March 25, 2020 — The Outer Fields At Western Springs — Auckland, NZ March 2

This image of My Chemical Romance was captured on November 15. It is first photo released of the full band together since their return announcement on Halloween. Perhaps the gravity of this isn't coming across. Here is a photo of My Chemical Romance, an active unit of four members identified under one banner, doing the same thing in the same place for the same purpose. This isn't a circle of the four former members of MCR. This is MCR. The world makes a lot more sense these days, Killjoys. XoXo —c.

My new AltPress article explores some of the visual themes of MCR's Return. Check it out! Since My Chemical Romance ’s return announcement, the band have remained relatively quiet. We’ve gotten a couple new show and festival appearance announcements, but fans are absolutely desperate for some clue as to what else might be going on below the surface. For every big MCR moment, the band have found ways to be cryptic and keep us all guessing, so we’re taking the very few images we have available to us to try to figure out what else the band may be up to. Here are a few things we’ve discovered so far. Please take these with a grain of salt; as, MCR have proven time and again that they are five steps ahead of the world and that nothing is quite what it seems. THE STATUE The statue featured in the official “Return” imagery is not new. In fact, it has existed for more than a century in Bologna, Italy. The piece is titled “Cella Magnani” and was sculpted by Pasquale Rizzoli in 1906

When My Chemical Romance reunited on Halloween 2019, I was sitting in front of this familiar old friend—my blog's composition box. Having had a very slight tip-off before the reveal began to unroll, my first instinct was to run here and to prepare to tell everyone the great news. But, eventually, I navigated away. I've been contemplating why I did it the past couple days, and I've come to the conclusion that it was because I wanted to live it  this time, rather than race to record it immediately. My heart was racing like old times, my extremities were numb, I was tapping my foot restlessly and absolutely ignoring everything I ever learned about mindful breathing. Pure adrenaline. I was running on solely that, having not eaten nor drank since the night before. (I would go on not to eat or sleep for another day, but more on that later.) It physically hurt. But it was amazing, because what we'd all hoped for for the past six years was actually about to happen. And
