Upcoming My Chemical Romance Album to Protest Pre-Danger Days "Stasis"

Image
My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way called in to Kerrang! Radio and explained the inspiration behind Danger Days: True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys . Way says that what he loves about the bands upcoming album is that "there's not really a story to follow," a definite change for a band that is known for its concept albums. "This record, you can just turn up really loud, and enjoy it in a different way. There's obviously meaning in every song and I'm speaking very directly to the listener, but there's no story to follow. The real story this time was the journey we took to create the album." "It is definitely a record to listen to from start to finish, but I think it's one of those things that you'll find a favorite song kind of every other time you listen to it." Regarding the band's drastic, colorful image change, Way said it was something the band had really wanted to do. "If anything, it was a rebellion ag...

Image
My Chemical Romance rhythm guitarist Frank Iero called in to Los Angeles' 98.7 FM to hurriedly discuss the band's upcoming album, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys . Iero reveals that "from what [he knows], the record will be out mid-November" and he's "pretty sure it's the 22nd," solidifying the date that has been circulating through various outlets but that has yet to be confirmed through the band's official website. Iero also sheds some light on a prospective time in which the band will play shows Stateside; as, they are about to embark on their European tour "As far as playing L.A., we would love to be here as soon as possible, but I think that might actually have to wait until November as well. We might be doing some sort of shows, maybe smaller or radio shows." Iero says he "has [his] fingers crossed" on an L.A. show before the end of the year. Iero jokes that he is "contractually obliga...

My Chemical Romance Premier, Discuss New Single, "Na Na Na..."

Image
Today, both BBC Radio One and KROQ premiered My Chemical Romance's first single "Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)" from their upcoming album Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys with accompanying interviews in which band members briefly talked about the song and what it means to them and their upcoming album. Vocalist Gerard Way explained to BBC that "Na Na Na..." is the song that changed everything for the band and motivated them to start over. "Everything up to that point had felt like we had been in this kind of stasis, and as artist, stasis really equals death. It was so bad, the vibe wasn't good, and then "Na Na..." happened and all of the sudden there was this real, big intensity underneath us, and it was the momentum that we needed to dig deep and record another album. To me, the power of the song was how it propelled all of us, and that's kind of how we hope to propel everybody else." "It too...

MTV Confirms Rumored My Chemical Romance Album Title, Announces Producer Change

Image
Reprise Records has confirmed to MTV.com that the previously-rumored and leaked album title for the upcoming MCR release, Danger Days: The True Lives of The Fabulous Killjoys , is -- indeed -- the final title of the album. The article also announces that Brendan O'Brien who was announced as the album's producer in May of 2009, was replaced during their recording by Rob Cavallo, producer of MCR's previous album The Black Parade . For anyone worried about a Killjoys-MCR connection, I made a post recently that demonstrates how the two are already connected. XoXo c.

My Chemical Romance Post More Mysterious Videos

Image
A second strange video has appeared on the My Chemical Romance youtube channel. The video, "ZONE SURVEILLANCE 1C," came with a tweet from the MCR-related Twitter character, Dr. Death Defying: Oh man, when did this zone become the fuckin' Valley of the Draculoids?! Those who have seen scans from September 30's issue of Rolling Stone will remember the masks those "Draculoids" are wearing as the one guitarist Frank Iero hides behind in the photograph accompanying an MCR article. This video comes a little less than a week after the appearance of "ZONE SURVEILLANCE 1B." ::EDIT Shortly after 1C was posted, 1D appeared: Both videos are featured on the screen of the WKIL frequency on the Transmissions page of the My Chemical Romance Website!

A Brief Word on My Blog and Premature MCR Information at this Juncture

Image
I just wanted to take time to address this before I resume reporting as usual. I am aware of several of the exciting happenings that have taken place in the My Chemical Romance world recently, but it is my personal choice, at this point, to not release unofficial information via this blog. Lately, leakage has mingled with news and lines have been blurred. It's a bit hard to see what is fact, fiction, speculation or intentional information-spreading. I unintentionally found out some things in a less-than-thrilling way recently when I would have preferred to have heard them through an exciting and information-rich official post from the band or the label. Yes, Information is information any way you distribute it; however, in a writing world where "FIRST!," despite quality, often becomes "BEST!," I'm trying to sit back and enjoy all of this as it comes slowly. That, again, is my personal choice. To avoid giving another waiting fan a thrill-killing experience li...

My Chemical Romance Post Mysterious Teaser Video

Image
A new video has been added to My Chemical Romance's Youtube channel . The video, first posted by Dr. Death Defying , one of the mystery Twitter users associated with My Chemical Romance, then later by vocalist Gerard Way, is a mere 16 seconds long and shows a suited person in what appears to be a mouse-hybrid mascot-head wandering the same desert scenery that has been added to the band's official site and that has been described in recent tweets from the strange Twitter accounts. What do you make of it? If you're a proud MCRmy Soldier, Gerard has a mission: "How much can you boys and boys and girls blow this up- or do we have to lip-sync?" Following the poor showing that was the VMAs, I feel this is certainly worth some blowing up! My raygun is fully charged, and I'm ready to take this as far as I can. Are you? XoXo c.

My Chemical Romance Website Returns with News, Desert Imagery and traces of Killjoys

Image
After three confusion-stirring days of its morphing unexpectedly into a page displaying a television with various changeable channels, the My Chemical Romance website has returned to its old self with some minor changes. A desert-scene backs a blog post, "To Kill a Demon Shark," from guitarist Frank Iero that announces the final limited-edition print of his ongoing series and the birth of his twin daughters, gives a better look at the MCR-designed Guitar Hero strap and warns us, as we have grown accustomed to being warned lately, to "look alive." The print , titled "Satan Save The West Coast Cause God Wants Us Dead," displays a desert scene, possibly a more distant shot of the background image location, overlayed by the text "California 2019" and a white spider-- the one widely recognized as the logo for The True Lives of The Fabulous Killjoys , the comic series vocalist Gerard Way announced he was working on in July 2009 and said would no...
