A far cry from the '90s-inspired, American comic-book feel they had originally intended , the Killjoys of now, according to Gerard Way, Shaun Simon and Becky Cloonan in an interview with Newsarama that was streamed live, is more inspired by the Killjoys world MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE created with their videos for Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys . Between my digging up arrest reports and generally writing news for Alternative Press today, I noticed quite a few My Chemical Romance happenings. Because of MCRupdate's the recent announcement that she would no longer be updating, I figured I would try to post a little more more here to attempt to make up for the loss. Of course, I'll never be able to keep up at the magnitude she did, but little things that I would normally just tweet then move on, I'll try to compile into an occasional digest so they'll be less likely to be missed. "I don't think we're going to be making any more videos, but something is definitely on the horizon," My Chemical Romance bassist Mikey Way revealed in a recent interview by Coup De Main magazine . For fans who had hoped for "SING" 's massive cliffhanger to be resolved, that may be disappointing. However, Way goes on to say that "the Killjoys story is far from over," citing that the Killjoys comic by Shaun Simon and MCR vocalist Gerard Way may contain hints at what happened to Kobra Kid and co. and that, "it should be relatively soon that you should hear something [new] about the comic." Many months ago, fans were spun into a frenzy of excitement when Gerard Way announced via twitter that he would be coming out with a new comic series. We were excited, yet clueless until this point, having previously known only that it would be "very different" from The Umbrella Academy and that Way would be collaborating with Becky Cloonan. Thanks to a Dark Horse panel at Comic-Con, we now have a title, prospective release-time, artists, and a general concept idea. So, here's the deal: Gerard announced at a Dark Horse panel at San Diego Comic-Con earlier today that his new series is titled, Killjoys . Written by Way, the comic will feature the talents of Shaun Simon as a co-writer and of Becky Cloonan as an illustrator. The six-issue series, which is set for release in 2010 will, indeed, be different from Way's previous work, The Umbrella Academy .
